Product Description
Aluminium sulfate is an inorganic salt widely used as a coagulant in drinking-water and wastewater treatment, as well as in paper sizing, dyeing mordanting, concrete acceleration, and soil conditioning. With the formula Al₂(SO₄)₃, it hydrolyzes in neutral water to form aluminium hydroxide flocs that rapidly capture and settle suspended solids, turbidity, color, and phosphorus.
Key properties
· Appearance. White, odorless crystalline solid — available in granular, powdered, or lumpy form depending on grade.
· Solubility. Freely soluble in water; practically insoluble in ethanol.

Application Scenarios
· Water and wastewater treatment (primary use). Coagulant in drinking-water and wastewater plants, where it destabilizes suspended colloids and forms settleable flocs to reduce turbidity, color, and phosphorus.
· Paper industry. Sizing agent that precipitates rosin size onto cellulose fibers, improving water resistance and ink retention.
· Textile processing. Mordant (dye-fixing agent) for direct and reactive dyes.
· Food industry. Firming agent and acidulant in approved food-grade applications (e.g., pickling, sugar refining).
· Construction and materials. Concrete-setting accelerator, fire-resistant materials, and soil stabilization.
· Personal care. Astringent ingredient in deodorants and styptic preparations.
Storage and handling
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from strong oxidizers and strong bases. Wear gloves and safety goggles during handling to avoid skin and eye contact.
