Product Specifications & Basic Information
Calcium oxide (Chemical formula: CaO, CAS Registry Number: 1305-78-8) is professionally known as quicklime, burnt lime or calx. As an active inorganic compound, it cannot exist stably in the natural environment, as it is prone to spontaneous reactions with water to produce hydrated lime, and with atmospheric carbon dioxide to form limestone sediment. Industrial-grade calcium oxide is artificially processed by high-temperature calcination of natural calcium carbonate-based raw materials such as limestone and oyster shells within a temperature range of 1,700℃ to 2,450℃.

Industrial Application Scope
Calcium oxide is a fundamental industrial chemical material with comprehensive application coverage across multiple core industries, including metallurgical engineering, industrial flue gas desulfurization, building engineering, mineral processing, papermaking manufacturing and industrial wastewater treatment.
In the iron ore smelting and refining industry, calcium oxide acts as a critical impurity removal agent. It can chemically react with harmful impurities such as silicates, phosphates and sulfates contained in raw iron ore, converting these impurities into removable slag substances. This purification effect effectively improves the purity of finished iron products and ensures the smooth progress of metallurgical production.
