Product Description

MA/AA is a low-molecular-weight polyelectrolyte copolymer produced by the copolymerization of maleic acid and acrylic acid at a controlled ratio.

It provides excellent dispersion and scale inhibition performance, particularly against carbonate-based mineral deposits. MA/AA also offers outstanding thermal stability, allowing it to perform effectively under demanding operating conditions and temperatures of up to approximately 300°C.

MA/AA has good compatibility with a wide range of water treatment chemicals and can provide a synergistic effect when formulated with other scale inhibitors and water treatment additives.

It effectively inhibits the formation of various types of mineral scale, including phosphate-containing deposits, making it suitable for industrial water treatment systems where conventional polymers may have limited thermal stability.

Recommended Dosage

MA/AA is commonly formulated with organophosphonates to provide enhanced scale inhibition and dispersion performance.

The typical dosage in water treatment applications is approximately 2–10 mg/L, depending on water quality and system operating conditions.

For use as a textile processing auxiliary, chelating agent, dispersant, or washing aid, the appropriate dosage should be determined through application-specific laboratory and field testing.

Packaging and Storage

MA/AA is supplied in plastic drums, typically with a net weight of 25 kg or 250 kg per drum. Customized packaging is available according to customer requirements.

Store in a cool, dry indoor area, protected from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Recommended storage period: 12 months.

Safety and Handling

MA/AA is an acidic aqueous polymer solution. Appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn during handling and application.

Avoid direct contact with the skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse immediately and thoroughly with plenty of clean water.

For detailed information regarding safe handling, storage, transportation, and emergency procedures, please refer to the product's Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

Application Scenarios

1. Boiler Water Treatment

MA/AA is suitable for low-pressure boiler water treatment, where its scale inhibition and thermal stability help control mineral deposits on heat-transfer surfaces.

2. District Heating Systems

MA/AA can be used in centralized heating and district heating water systems to help control scale formation and mineral deposition.

3. Central Air-Conditioning Systems

MA/AA is suitable for central air-conditioning cooling water systems, helping disperse suspended solids and inhibit mineral scale formation.

4. Industrial Circulating Cooling Water

MA/AA can be used in a variety of industrial circulating cooling water systems, particularly where good thermal stability and compatibility with other treatment chemicals are required.

5. Textile, Printing & Dyeing

MA/AA can also be used as a chelating and dispersing agent in textile processing, printing, and dyeing applications.

It may also be used as a washing and processing aid, with the optimum dosage determined according to the specific process requirements.
