Product Description
Commonly referred to as yellow iron oxide, Pigment Yellow 42 is an alkalineoxidebased yellow powder pigment with favorable chemical stability. It remains undissolved in water and alcohols, shows marginal solubility in dilute acids, and fully dissolves in concentrated hydrochloric acid. Subjected to heating at 80 °C, it loses water and converts into reddish ferric oxide.
Manufactured by precipitating iron oxyhydroxide, the material goes through washing, drying and milling to obtain finished pigment. Thanks to its clean bright shade, strong hiding power and notable weather fastness, it functions as a colorant for coatings, printing inks, construction materials, rubber and paper goods across multiple industrial sectors.
