Product Description

DTPMPA is a high-performance organophosphonate with excellent scale and corrosion inhibition properties. It is readily soluble in acidic solutions and offers outstanding thermal stability.

DTPMPA is particularly effective in controlling the formation of carbonate and sulfate scale. Compared with many other organophosphonates, it maintains excellent scale and corrosion inhibition performance under high-temperature and alkaline conditions, including temperatures above 210°C.

In industrial water treatment, DTPMPA is widely used as a scale and corrosion inhibitor for circulating cooling water and boiler water systems.

It is particularly suitable for alkaline circulating cooling water systems operated without pH adjustment, where it can provide effective scale and corrosion control.

DTPMPA is also suitable for oilfield water injection systems, cooling water, and boiler water where high levels of barium carbonate or other scale-forming ions may be present.

Ethylenediamine Tetra(methylene Phosphonic Acid) (EDTMPA)

When used as part of a formulated water treatment program, DTPMPA can provide effective scale control without the need for an additional dispersant, while maintaining low levels of scale deposition.

Recommended Dosage

For scale inhibition, the typical dosage of DTPMPA is 1–30 mg/L, depending on water quality and operating conditions.

For cleaning applications, the typical dosage is 1,000–2,000 mg/L.

DTPMPA is commonly used in combination with polycarboxylic acid-based scale inhibitors and dispersants to improve overall scale control and water treatment performance.

For applications in other industries, the optimum dosage should be determined through laboratory testing and application trials.
