Product Description

Sorbic acid, also known as 2,4-hexadienoic acid, 2-propenyl acrylic acid, or herbal tea acid, is a food additive with the molecular formula C₆H₈O₂. It is effective in inhibiting the growth of various fungi, including yeasts and molds.

In addition to its use in food applications, sorbic acid is widely utilized in animal feed, cosmetics, pharmaceutical products, packaging materials, and rubber additives.

Application Scenarios

Commonly applied at a concentration of 0.1%–0.3%, it serves as an ideal anti-fungal agent for food and daily chemical products. In cosmetic manufacturing, it can partially replace glycerin in creams, ointments and emulsions to optimize formula stability.
