Product Description
EDTMPS is a nitrogen-containing organophosphonate that functions primarily as a cathodic corrosion inhibitor. Compared with inorganic polyphosphates, EDTMPS can provide approximately 3–5 times higher corrosion inhibition efficiency.
EDTMPS is readily miscible with water and offers good chemical stability and thermal resistance. It maintains excellent scale inhibition performance at temperatures of up to 200°C, making it suitable for demanding industrial water treatment applications.
In aqueous solution, EDTMPS can dissociate into multiple ionic species and chelate with various metal ions, forming large, cross-linked coordination structures. These complexes remain dispersed in water and interfere with the normal crystallization and deposition of calcium scale. EDTMPS is particularly effective against calcium sulfate and barium sulfate scale.
